My favorite art pieces!
I really enjoyed the street art, these two were my favorite they were so detailed and yet so huge and on the sides of buildings. I found these really beautiful!
My favorite architecture was the Parthenon, I was most excited to see this when coming to Greece. I loved getting to see how much still remains and it’s amazing that it’s still standing even after all these years!
My favorite statues were the Venus and Hermes statues! They are located at the Archaeological Museum of Olympia. They were very intricate and gorgeous, I love how beautiful and detailed they were. I loved how smooth the Hermes one was and it was so well preserved. The Venus one was simply stunning I love that you can see the clothing so detailed she is gorgeous!
My favorite paintings were the Monet painting and the Rouen painting. They are found at the Goulandris Museum in Athens. I’ve always wanted to see a Monet he is my favorite artist, could have stared at that painting forever. I was also in love with the painting with all of the faces hidden in it I looked down from the floor above and saw it and stared at it from up there and came down and just looked at it for a very long time, trying to make out all of the faces. I kept going back to it.
I also really enjoyed seeing all the intricate and detailed jewelry, the ones with the ships were gorgeous I found them at the Benaki Museum, I can’t imagine how long it took to make and I’m so glad they have been so perfectly preserved.
I really enjoyed this experience, I simply love Greece and I feel that I will go home a different person and will view things differently. I’m very excited to travel more and see more art pieces.
